About me

I am a Consultant Neurologist working at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience. I am also a visiting Neurologist at the Royal Bolton Hospital where I provide inpatient Neurology consultations. I work at Salford Royal Hospital and run a general neurology clinic at Breightmet Health Centre as well as a regional movement disorder clinic in Altrincham. My private practice is split between The Alexandra Hospital and The Beaumont Hospital.

After graduating from medical school at the university of Aleppo I completed my medical training in several hospitals around in the UK. During this time, I earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Edinburgh. I then pursued my passion for neurology and spent several years in neuroscience research. I have published multiple peer reviewed original papers in Neurology and Movement Disorders Journals and presented at conferences nationally and internationally. In 2016 I was awarded a PhD from the University of Manchester for my research on pain mechanisms in Parkinson's disease. I completed my specialist Neurology training in the busy regional neuroscience centre at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and was appointed as a Consultant Neurologist at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience in 2021.

I have extensive experience in diagnosing and managing all neurological presentations including Headaches, Blackouts / Dizziness, Seizures, Memory Problems, Speech Difficulties, Weakness, Balance Problems, Tremors, Muscle Twitching, Tingling and Numbness, Restless Legs and Peripheral Nerve Disorders.

I realise that having neurological symptoms can be worrying with sometimes significant impact on quality of life. In my practice, I endeavour to put patients at ease and take the time to listen to their concerns and how the symptoms are affecting them and ensure that I answer any questions they may have.

Areas of interest

I have a sub-specialty interest in Parkinson's disease and other Movement Disorders I am a member of the regional MDT for advanced therapies for Parkinson's disease.
