About me
Mr Hirsch is a gynaecologist and endometriosis specialist. He has specific, internationally recognised, expertise in managing endometriosis, period problems, and fibroids. As an endometriosis specialist, Mr Hirsch is trained and exclusively performs endometriosis excision via keyhole surgery.
During his time training, he was awarded an MD doctoral degree from the Queen Mary University of London for research into diagnostic and treatment strategies for endometriosis. This has led to an extensive research career helping to advance the speciality with over 40 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and invited keynote lectures. These have been recognised with national awards from the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and NHS Improvement.
Mr Hirsch practices in the NHS at Oxford's prestigious John Radcliffe Hospital as a Consultant gynaecologist and endometriosis specialist surgeon. He runs specialist endometriosis clinics and theatre lists for advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. Additional procedures he commonly performs include laparoscopy, hysterectomy, fibroid surgery, endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy, and ovarian cyst surgery.
He is an elected senior council member for the BSGE and chair of the National Working Party for thoracic endometriosis care. Within the BSGE, Mr Hirsch coordinates an international webinar and podcast series to promote endometriosis awareness and collaboration among experts.
