About me
Professor Sagar N Doshi graduated from the University of Wales in 1990 and completed his specialist training in cardiology in the West Midlands. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation Junior Research Fellowship and undertook his MD Research at the Wales Heart Research Institute. He found undertook an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, New York, USA. He has been director of the TAVI programme at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, which he commenced in 2008
Professor Doshi is a Consultant Cardiologist with a practice focused on interventional cardiology, general cardiology and valvular heart disease. He is director of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Intervention (TAVI) programme and is a member of the acute coronary intervention service for coronary emergencies. He has performed over 2200 percutaneous coronary interventions (angioplasties and coronary stents) and has undertaken over 1800 TAVI procedures for severe aortic stenosis. He also specialises in Transcatheter Edge-Edge Repair (TEER) which is a novel, minimally invasive treatment for Mitral and Tricuspid regurgitation.
