About me
Professor David Deehan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital, part of the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust. His expertise lies in complex and revision knee surgery, with a strong focus on:
� Hip and Knee Surgery: Including joint preservation and replacement techniques.
� Sports Injuries: Such as ACL and PCL reconstruction, and meniscal repair.
� Bone Deformity and Re-alignment: Addressing structural issues through osteotomy and other corrective procedures.
� Robotic and Revision Surgery: He's a pioneer in robotic-assisted knee replacements and leads a tertiary referral practice for complex knee cases.
Beyond his clinical work, Prof Deehan holds a chair in Orthopaedics at Newcastle University and is a visiting professor at Imperial College London. He co-founded the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre and played a key role in establishing the Newcastle Retrieval Centre.
