About me
Miss Theresa Freeman-Wang is a consultant gynaecologist with expertise in cervical screening, colposcopy, lower genital tract pre-malignancy (including perianal and anal disease), vulval disorders, menstrual problems, menopause, and post-menopausal bleeding. She is known for her multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and collaborating closely with other health professionals to ensure effective treatment.
Miss Freeman-Wang has been a full-time consultant at the Whittington Hospital since 2002 and led the colposcopy and vulval services until 2023. She runs a multizonal clinic for managing women with premalignant changes of the lower genital tract and a joint vulval dermatology service with Dr Kathy Taghipour. She has served as the clinical director for women and children's health and been both Lead and Deputy for gynaecological oncology at the Whittington. She chaired the Colposcopy Users Group at Portland Hospital from 2012 to 2021. Additionally, she has been a professional adviser and director for cervical screening across London.
Currently, she holds several prestigious positions: the immediate Past President of the BSCCP, President Elect of the International Federation of Cancer Prevention and Colposcopy (IFCPC). Her clinical interests also include managing vulval disorders such as vulvodynia. She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease and the British Menopause Society.
In her spare time, Miss Freeman-Wang enjoys art, medical history, theatre, and boxercise. Her extensive experience in managing vulval problems, particularly vulval pain, underscores the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach, often involving coordination with allied specialties.
