About me
Dr Sanjeet Kamath is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Salford Royal Hospital, Northern Care Alliance. He a full-time clinical rheumatologist and has rheumatology experience of over 20 years.
He qualified from Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in 1991. He completed postgraduate studies in Internal medicine at JJ Hospitals, Mumbai in 1996 and was awarded MD (Internal Medicine). He completed Specialist Rheumatology training in West Midlands. In 2004, he was appointed as full-time Consultant Rheumatologist at Haywood Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. He worked on developing connective tissue disease services and set up combined renal clinic, early inflammatory arthritis pathways and was PI for clinical trials in connective tissue diseases and inflammatory arthritis.
He moved to Salford Royal Hospital, NCA in June 2016. He is a busy full-time clinical rheumatologist and assesses over 1500 patients per year in outpatient clinics. His area of interest includes connective tissue diseases � lupus, vasculitis, Sjogren's syndrome and other rare conditions like sarcoidosis, IgG4 related disease etc. He does weekly early inflammatory arthritis clinic assessing patients with suspected rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Patients with fibromyalgia, gout, back pain, and osteoporosis are managed by him in general rheumatology clinics. He does a combined renal � rheumatology clinic and offers rheumatology specialist input at weekly Vasculitis and lupus MDT. He is member of Regional GCA MDT and has setup GCA pathway at Salford Royal. He is Trust Lead for Rheumatology and represents Salford at Northwest Rheumatology Committee meeting. Previous educational roles include Associate Foundation Programme Director from 2018 to 2024. He is Honorary Clinical Lecturer (Teaching) at University of Manchester and is involved with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
He has private privileges at Orth Team Centre, Manchester Spire and Hale Spire Hospitals. He is an active member of British Society for Rheumatology and Royal College of Physicians.
He enjoys solving puzzles and is a regular bridge player.
