About me
Dr Josie Vila is originally from the North East and qualified as a doctor in 2002 from the University of Newcastle. She has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS trust since 2015.
She has a broad range of expertise in general rheumatology, early and established inflammatory arthritis and differentiating autoimmune conditions from pain processing problems and fibromyalgia.
In addition to this, she has sub-speciality interests in connective tissue disease including lupus, interstitial lung disease, systemic sclerosis and IgG4 related disease.
She is a member of the North Eastern regional connective tissue disease and vasculitis multi-disciplinary team, the North Eastern regional interstitial lung disease MDT and the Northern IgG4 MDT receiving complex tertiary referrals from around the region.
