About me

Steve Pope is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon at BMI Bath Clinic and the Royal United Hospital Bath since 2001. His particular interests include Hip and Knee Surgery / Lower Limb Replacement Surgery. Having worked in a combination of major London teaching hospitals and busy district hospitals during his basic surgical and Specialist Registrar training posts, he received comprehensive tuition in all aspects of Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. This was further enhanced during a fellowship year in Brisbane, Australia.

Mr Pope’s key interests are in Knee Replacement & Hip Replacement, Revision Knee Replacement and Knee Arthroscopy as well as Trauma Surgery and general knee injuries. He is able to offer patients a variety of surgical options and his knowledge of the wide range of available hip and knee components, means he can provide them with personalised advice on the most appropriate prosthetic joint.

Mr Pope is actively involved in training and has responsibilities as an Educational Supervisor to middle-grade trainees, as well as being involved in the national recruitment of trainees. He also has an established medicolegal practice.
