About me

Dr. Rishi Dhir is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. He completed his basic surgical training and higher orthopaedic training on the Royal London rotation at Whitechapel from 2006 to 2017. Following his training, he underwent three prestigious fellowships in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery at Wrightington Hospital, Edinburgh, and Melbourne from 2017 to 2019.

Dr. Dhir has a strong passion for teaching and education. He has extensive experience at the FRCS level and has set up the internationally renowned and award winning education company "Let's talk Dr", revolutionising orthopaedic education where he teaches trainees nationally and internationally (having trained over 2000 to become consultants in five continents) through courses such as the Blitz and Syllabus Course. He also creates teaching videos and provides mentoring to students worldwide. Dr. Dhir's commitment to education led him to achieve a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education at Cambridge and he has written and edited text books such as Hamilton and Bailey and authored several book chapters and publications internationally.

As an upper limb consultant, Dr. Dhir specialises in elective shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery, including procedures such as shoulder arthroscopy (rotator cuff, impingement, ACJ arthritis, frozen shoulder, instability) and arthroplasty (anatomical and reverse), elbow soft tissue procedures (such as nerve releases, release for arthritis or tennis elbow), and hand soft tissue and bony procedures (such as carpal tunnel, trigger finger, dupuytrens, tendinitis, thumb and finger joint replacement and fusion and ganglion excision). He also has expertise in general trauma and sub-specialist upper limb trauma.

Dr. Rishi Dhir's dedication to his field, teaching, and patient care make him a valued consultant orthopaedic surgeon, providing comprehensive upper limb surgical services at Princess Alexandra Hospital where he has worked as a consultant since December 2019. He uses an evidence based approach to practice with knowlege and application of all the up to date techniques with excellent outcomes and feedback.

He does private patient clinic consultations at the HCA Shard and Canary Wharf and Ramsay Health Sawbridgeworth as well as Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital and operates at London Bridge hospital, Sawbridgeworth Essex and Highgate North London. He is happy to see insured and self-pay patients.
