About me

I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist Urogynaecologist (Pelvic Floor Specialist) at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and one of the largest providers of subspecialist private pelvic floor reconstruction for prolapse and incontinence in the UK. I also provide general gynaecological care.

For those patients that choose surgery, they can be reassured that I have a large volume practice performing 320 major procedures per annum of which over 90 are hysterectomies.

My focus is to offer compassionate, individualised, evidence-based, expert care for women with gynaecological problems including incontinence, and prolapse, with particular expertise in laparoscopy/keyhole surgery.

I enjoy working collaboratively with patients to find the best management option for them, including watchful waiting.

I qualified from the University of Exeter before spending a decade training in London. I was inspired to pursue Urogynaecology whilst working at King's College Hospital London for Professor Linda Cardozo OBE. I was awarded my doctoral degree (MD, Res) from University College London for research into womb-sparing key-hole prolapse surgery supervised by Mr Arvind Vashisht and Professor Usha Menon at UCLH. I completed my sub-specialty accreditation at the Department of Urogynaecology in Oxford.

I am a clinician-researcher, publishing in peer-reviewed journals regularly, lecturing internationally, and I have authored book chapters, I was part of the NIHR-funded PURSUE study group at The University of Oxford. Currently, I lead a group focusing on day case surgery outcomes (DAY-POP). I am a past Chair of the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA) FTECP committee, teach laparoscopic surgery, and have won several awards for my teaching and training.

I have an expertise in medicolegal practice. I am married, have two children, and am an amateur urban farmer.
