About me

I am a clinical psychologist and accredited cognitive-behavioural therapist. I qualified in 1988 and have been practising since then as well as being a clinical academic. I have extensive experience of treating adults with a whole range of mental health problems. I am an Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton and I set up the first cognitive therapy PG Diploma in Southampton in 2000. My book Imagery in cognitive behavioural therapy (Guilford, 2021) is a leading text for practitioners on how to use imagery therapeutically.
