About me

Nick Hamilton is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon based in London at the Royal National ENT Hospital.

He completed his primary medical qualification at the University of Manchester in 2006 and was awarded a first-class bachelor of science degree from UCL. In 2011, Mr Hamilton began his specialist registrar training in Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery in the North Thames Deanery, completing his training in 2021. During training, he worked at the Royal National Throat Nose & Ear, Royal Free and University College London Hospitals and gained expertise in all areas of ENT and Laryngology. He also completed a PhD in Regenerative Medicine at UCL and became a Clinical Lecturer in 2016. In 2020 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

After completing specialist training, he undertook a Fellowship in Laryngeal Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States, as well as began a Research Associate position at Harvard University. In April 2022, he was appointed as a Consultant at University College London NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Professor at UCL.

Mr Hamilton is an active researcher with over 40 publications. His current research interests surround developing new treatments for the effects of ageing and fibrosis on the vocal cords and airway. He is also interested in the long-term effects of COVID-19 within the throat and developing new treatment pathways for common throat conditions.
