About me

Dr Bhutani joined as a Consultant Nephrologist, Department of Renal Medicine at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester, the United Kingdom, in 2017.
During his earlier part of training, he realised that Renal medicine would allow him to deal with patients with a myriad of clinical issues.

He started his renal registrar training in the North west ( 2011-2014) region. Working as Registrar in this high-intensity busy Nephrology unit gave him good exposure in early recognition, prompt diagnosis, and appropriate management of challenging Renal conditions and inculcated qualities of being an effective team member.

During his registrar training, his interest in Renal medicine was sustained by involvement in audits, quality improvement projects and research.

By the end of his training in 2014, he developed an interest in Solid-organ Transplantation and decided to pursue his career in Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation.

He started working as a Post CCT Fellow ( 2014-2016) in the Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation Department at Manchester Royal Infirmary, United Kingdom. He was involved in providing day to day care to transplant patients and led multidisciplinary team meetings.

In the summer of 2016, He moved to Toronto, Canada, as a clinical fellow in Kidney transplantation at Toronto General Hospital. This gave him an excellent opportunity to sharpened his current clinical skills and the chance to learn extensively about different aspects of transplantation.

He is currently pursuing Masters in Transfusion and Transplantation (MSc) from the University of Bristol.

Apart from transplantation, he has a broad range of experience in various aspects of Nephrology, including management of Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease, Pre Dialysis, Dialysis, Glomerular Pathology.

He has developed a special interest in interventional Nephrology procedures such as Kidney (Native and Transplant) biopsies, Permanent & Temporary dialysis lines.

Research / Quality Improvement Experience
He has presented over 20 abstracts at various national and international conferences. He has also published in various journals with good impact factors.

He is currently involved and pursuing a research project on the role of Non-HLA antibodies in transplantation.

He has been involved in various QI projects and audits, and his abstracts in peer-reviewed journals stand testament to this.

In summary, Dr Bhutani has developed the skills of a clinician, communicator, collaborator, health advocate, manager, and professional skills.
