About me
Miss Cheryl Lobo is a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon with private practices at the Wellington Hospital, Lister Hospital, King Edward VII and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. She specialises in the management of all aspects of breast disease with the emphasis always on survivorship and the needs of the modern woman. She believes in providing personalised care and clinical excellence in an efficient and approachable manner.
She regularly treats patients with breast cancer who present to the symptomatic clinic, recalled through breast screening or come from a high-risk family background. Oncoplastic trained, she combines the latest plastic surgery techniques with breast cancer surgery to give both the best cancer treatment and best cosmetic outcome.
Miss Lobo set up the breast sarcoma tertiary referral service at UCLH, the only one of its kind in the UK. She has considerable experience in the management of all breast sarcomas including phyllodes tumours, angiosarcomas and other rare conditions including dermatofibrosarcomas.
During the Covid pandemic, she was appointed the Co-Chair of the Proton Beam Therapy and Cancer Development board with an active role in fundraising for UCLH Charity. Other passions include fundraising for staff wellbeing, believing its importance in its own right and the direct link to better patient experience and outcomes.
Miss Lobo qualified from Imperial College London with honours and undertook higher surgical training in the London Deanery. As a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the Association of Breast Surgeons, she has widely published in peer reviewed journals and presents both nationally and internationally. Her outside interests include spending time with her family, art history and architectural design.
