About me
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over twelve years of post-qualification experience working with individuals across the lifespan suffering from mental health difficulties.
I specialise in treating trauma, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment problems, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss. My approach draws from many years of clinical experience and extensive training in evidence-based treatment such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Schema Therapy, MBT (Mentalization Based Therapy), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness for stress, and Autogenic Training Therapy.
Alongside my private practice I have always been working in NHS and private organizations and I have a variety of experience working with adults in a range of settings including inpatient, community, rehab and outpatient services.
As I have been trained at doctoral level and have also completed a PhD in Psychology, I have a special interest in research developments in evidence-based approaches to treatment and in the link between optimal physical health and mental health.
In addition to my Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology approaches, I am a qualified British wheel of Yoga teacher (500-hour Yoga Teacher Training) and I am completing a Yoga Therapy Diploma. I take a flexible approach tailored to my client’s individual needs, offering a variety of therapeutic models, tools and techniques which can be integrated or used alone. My extensive experience in psychological therapies alongside my knowledge of yoga therapy allows me to utilise an integrative approach of body and mind techniques where this aligns with the needs and preference of my client.
I am especially passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their deeper sense of purpose, transform their reality and live a fulfilling life. A core aspect of my approach is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship which allows individuals to more easily draw from their inner resources. I provide heart-felt support and treatment which is based upon the individual’s needs and choice.
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.
