About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 10 years experience of working in mental health settings across the NHS and private practice.
I am trained in CBT & I have additional training in specialist therapy modalities including Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT - accredited with the British Psychoanalytic Council), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
I specialise in treating trauma, relationship issues and anxiety. For individuals who have experienced trauma I take a supportive approach to understanding the way these experiences continue to impact you in the present. I work with both single incident trauma and multiple traumatic events in childhood or adulthood. I offer EMDR to help process these difficult experiences and improve your symptoms and how you feel about yourself now.
People who have had difficult early experiences often have trouble in their relationships. I offer dynamic interpersonal therapy which is a relational and attachment based approach to help you understand and improve problematic relational dynamics.
I also specialist in treating people who experience anxiety disorders whether that's generalised anxiety or panic disorder. People who experience anxiety often have a lot of 'what if' type worries or engage in patterns of avoidance in order to cope. I support people to reduce their anxiety and get back to living fulfilling lives.
I understand that everyone's life experience and difficulties are different, that's why I offer an integrative and tailored approach to therapy which draws from a range of evidence based models, in order to suit your individual needs.
