About me
Following psychiatric training at the Maudsley Hospital and three years as a university lecturer in clinical psychiatry at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, I have been a consultant psychiatrist since 1996, initially working as a general adult and liaison psychiatrist at St Mary‘s Hospital, Paddington and in more recent years as a liaison psychiatrist at University College London Hospital. I now work in private practice and as an honorary consultant liaison psychiatrist at University College London Hospital, where I have a clinic within the gastroenterology department. I have in earlier years published psychiatric research, in the area of schizophrenia, but more recently in liaison psychiatry - the interaction of functional symptoms mental health, and the presentation of alcohol problems in the General Hospital.
My main focus of interest is mood disorders. I have experience in anxiety disorders generally (generalised anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, Trauma/PTSD), and also in depression and bipolar disorder.
