About me

BACP/NCPS Registered and Accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist.

Counselling Approach - Integrative, Person Centred, Existential, Solution Focused, CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA).

I am a dedicated and committed practitioner with over 20 years’ experience of working on a wide range of presenting issues, helping those in need or distress to explore their concerns in a safe, caring, sensitive and supportive way. I support clients from all walks of life and diverse cultural backgrounds, ranging from high profile and corporate clients to students and refugees.

My approach is Integrative/Person Centred which basically means therapy recognises that each person and their life experience is unique. Therefore, therapy is tailored to the needs of each individual client with the aim of empowering them to develop a greater understanding of self, affect change, produce positive outcomes, and experience improved health and wellbeing.

I have particular interest and experience of working Existentially with the whole person to promote self-efficacy and relapse prevention by integrating holistic health with therapy, including mindfulness; relaxation; walk & talk; positive psychology and the use of metaphor and visualisation to help clients articulate and express their thoughts, feelings and emotions and make sense of their internal and external world.

I also specialise in working with trauma and abuse and have worked with NSPCC, Domestic Abuse Services, Rape and Sexual Abuse Services. I have also campaigned for and successfully set up several School Counselling Services over the years.

As an experienced Bereavement Counsellor, I help clients understand and make sense of their grief/loss reactions whilst navigating through the ‘whirlpool of grief’ on the journey towards acceptance. I also specialise in supporting with ‘Anticipatory Grief’ - a lesser known, understood or talked about grief that starts before loss actually occurs, but when death is expected. Such as when a loved one is diagnosed with a life limiting/terminal illness.

I have extensive experience of counselling via Health Care Providers, Occupational Health Services, EAPs/Workplace, and across various industries and sectors including; Legal, Corporate, Central Government, Arts, Culture & Music, Finance & Banking, Tech, Aviation, Charity, Blue Light Services, Health, Social Care and Education.

I offer long, medium, short term/ brief counselling, and single session therapy (SST).

Client range - Individual Adults, Children and Young People.
