About me
Dr Aadarsh Shah is a UK trained Consultant Dermatologist who sees and treats adults for all skin conditions. Dr Shah did his medical training at University College London. After completing his dermatology training, he undertook a fellowship in medical dermatology at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, one of the world’s leading centres for skin disease and the largest clinical dermatology department in the UK. His Consultant NHS post is at Bart’s Health London , the largest trust in the UK, where he treats adults with a range of general dermatological conditions. He also manages patients with complex inflammatory conditions and helps to co-ordinate clinical trials for emerging biological therapies for the skin.
Throughout his training, Dr Shah has seen patients from all ethnicities and backgrounds and is empathetic, friendly and approachable. Complex and severe skin disorders often have a significant impact on patient’s quality of life and mental health. Dr Shah applies a holistic approach in managing their condition and is respectful, considerate and professional. Dr Shah not only keeps up to date with the latest treatments, but is also an investigator in clinical research trials for new biological therapies in skin conditions.
Dr Shah has published many scientific articles in leading scientific journals and is also a reviewer for the British Journal of Dermatology and an Editor for the Journal of Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. He has also recruited patients for national and international registries including BADBIR, PSOProtect and Global Hidradenitis Suppuritiva COVID-19 registries.
Dr Shah has a keen interest in medical education at all levels. He has taught on the St John’s Derm academy courses, British Association of Dermatology Derm School, University College London (UCL) medical course and has been awarded a certificate of merit by the UCL division of Medical Education for contributions to undergraduate teaching.
Dr Shah regularly attends and presents at conferences in the UK and Internationally. He has been awarded multiple prizes including: Michael Feiwel Clinical Case Meeting best presentation at Royal Society of medicine (2019), Best poster Emirates dermatology society Annual Meeting (2018), Emirates travel fellowship (2018), AAD travel fellowship (2019), EADV Congress Fellowship (2017), UCL division of Medical Education contributions to undergraduate teaching (2013).
Dr Shah is registered with the GMC and on the specialist register for Dermatology. He is a member of the following professional bodies: British Association of Dermatologists, Royal Society of Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, UK Dermatology clinical trials network (UKDCTN), St John’s Dermatological Society, British Society of Dermatological Surgery (BSDS), Dowling club and European Association of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV).
