About me

Hello, I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist with extensive professional experience working with individuals, families and couples therapeutically, from the beginning of my career to now as a qualified psychotherapist. This gives me a unique insight into the disruption that major life events, ill health and life transitions can inflict on the growing family and developing person.

Working as a nanny, maternity/nursery nurse, on SCBU and on children's wards meant I witnessed the fragility and strengths of life within a family system whilst studying psychology.

Here I learnt about the importance of attachments and the affects of trauma on the mind and body which informs my work now. Extended to include how we also attach to our things and environment.

Later in my career, I worked with young people and their families who were struggling with school. Not just with their learning differences but often because of their mental health. This lead to the opportunity to work with major traumatic events where I would be called to support a situation whether for students or staff. At this time I had started training as a counsellor.
Finally heading a third sector service offering affordable counselling to individuals.

I have witnessed personally and professionally the beauty in life and the cruellest of situations. So wherever you are on this continuum, if you are looking to live life better. I can support you.

I can work flexibly if needed whether face to face, on the telephone or via video calling. Some clients switch between the different formats depending on where their schedule takes them or what they are trying to understand.

In the room, I am deeply compassionate, I use an integrative psychotherapeutic approach to get curious about what is getting in the way for you. I listen to what you say, what you don't say and how your body communicates.

I formulate my approach so you get the most meaning from your sessions with me, if you want a more structured approach, we do that. If you prefer an open approach, we do that. I support you in the way you need in order to understand and change your experience of life.

I look forward to meeting you.
