About me

Dr Barnes has over 20 years experience of working therapeutically with people experiencing a wide range of mental health needs.

Her experience spans forensic, adult mental health, learning disability and neuropsychology services. Dr Barnes works privately and in the NHS in which she is the Clinical Lead and Principal Psychologist in a local CAMHS specialist team working with looked after and adopted children.

Dr Barnes has specialist skills working with children and families including those who have experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex and developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.

Dr Barnes provides psychological support for children, adolescents and adults. This includes working with individuals, couples or families.

Dr Barnes practices using in person, telephone and online interventions, and also offers 'walking' therapy.

Dr Barnes is registered with both the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
