About me
Max was awarded his BA degree in Medical Sciences, University of Cambridge in 1985, and qualified as a Doctor with a BM BCh degree in 1988 from University of Oxford. His MD Thesis entitled Sulphate-reducing bacteria, sulphur metabolism and ulcerative colitis was commended in 1996 by the University of Cambridge. He was Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at St Marks and Northwick Hospitals, Harrow 1998-2024 and holds an NHS long service award. He was elected as Chairman of Medicine at St Marks by his peers in 2007.
Max sees general Gastroenterology and Hepatology referrals at The Clementine Churchill Hospital and OneWelbeck. Patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease and cancer are managed in collaboration with specialist tertiary-referral MDT colleagues.
Max is a member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London and Director of Harrow Gastro Ltd Company Registration No.7191958. Max is Gastroenterology lead for HBSUK Ltd and a member of Welbeck Health Partners. He was Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at The Clementine Churchill Hospital between 2010-2015.
