About me

Dr Alva started his job as a Consultant in Pain Medicine in NHS after completing his training in Anaesthetics and Pain Management.
Dr Alva is highly experienced in managing chronic pain conditions like musculoskeletal, abdominal, facial pain, chronic post-surgical pain with a multimodal approach involving patient education, advice on medications and physical therapy in addition to performing ultrasound or X-Ray guided procedures after a comprehensive assessment. The aim of this multimodal approach is to help manage pain and improve overall quality of life.
Dr Alva has special interest in musculoskeletal pain, such as chronic pain involving Spine, Hip, Knee, and Shoulder joints. He is highly skilled in ultrasound and X-Ray guided procedures, his expertise includes ultrasound guided nerve blocks, joint injections, X-Ray guided spinal interventions and he has extensive experience in image-guided radiofrequency procedures of the spine and joints. Dr. Alva offers a service based on the best current medical practice in the field of chronic pain.
