About me

Dr Malcolm Persey has been a consultant rheumatologist since 2000, based at the Barnet & Chase Farm sites of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified from Oxford University and the Royal Free Hospitals, and underwent training in general medicine and rheumatology, including periods at St Mary's , Central Middlesex, Northwick Park, and the Hammersmith Hospitals, the Postgraduate Medical School, and at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Dr Persey's particular interests include non-surgical treatments of a variety of rheumatological problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, and osteoarthritis of the hand and lower limb. Other areas in which he has particular interest and extensive experience in general rheumatology, are osteoporosis, gout, arthritis/rheumatic diseases in pregnancy, and vasculitis.
