About me
I am a Consultant Electrophysiologist and Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, London.
After medical schooling in Oxford and Edinburgh, I received specialist training in Cambridge, UK and Harvard Medical School, Boston USA. In Boston I undertook basic science research work which was awarded the DM from Oxford University, England. I have more than 25 years of experience as a consultant specialising in the treatment of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias with ablation, and with implantable cardiac electronic devices eg. pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation devices for the treatment of heart failure. I have led trials with these systems bringing advanced technologies to my patients early.
In parallel, I have maintained a consistent interest in research and furthered understanding of the treatment of my arrhythmia patients. In this regard, I have pioneered first clinical applications of remote monitoring of implantable devices, electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI), cardiac resynchronisation algorithms, and cryoablation technologies. This work has led to more than 200 publications in peer reviewed journals and an international reputation. I am a frequently invited lecturer at local, national and international scientific symposia. I have served as immediate past president to ISHNE and serve currently on the Digital Health Committee of HRS.
