About me
Having qualified in London I moved to Birmingham where I have specialised in prostate diseases for the last 25 years.
My approach to diagnostic pathways for prostate cancer is to be precise, using best quality mpMRI centres and reports, targeting the biopsies in as minimally invasive way possible, and to offer precise treatments such as nerve sparing prostatectomy, Focal HIFU and MR LINAC radiotherapy.
I have performed nearly 4000 prostatectomies and specialise in nerve sparing to preserve erectile function.
For urinary symptoms and retention if surgery is needed I favour either Greenlight laser or Aquablation but also perform Urolift, RezUm.
I was involved in the ProtecT study which reported on the outcomes of the main treatments for early prostate cancer, and this study highlighted the importance of listening to patients to understand their needs and priorities. Indirectly, this led me to offering focal therapies, HIFU or Nanoknife for appropriately selected patients. I work with the Focal Therapy Clinic because of their expertise in precision diagnostics and therapies. I am very keen on collecting data on outcomes that matter to patients such as satisfaction, impotence and impotence.
I have been full time in private practice for 6 years as part of a group of oncologists, radiologists and nurse specialists: The Birmingham Prostate Specialists. The clue is in the name� we specialise in prostate cancer and benign conditions. We are one of the biggest such clinics in the UK with local regional national and international patients.
