About me

Vish is a triple fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow / upper limb surgery. He undertook his medical degree at UCL and subsequent higher orthopaedic training in the East Midlands UK.

He has trained in four of London's renowned tertiary hospitals and has travelled as far as Japan to build his specialist skills in arthroscopic keyhole, shoulder and elbow surgery as well as shoulder replacement and, complex upper limb fracture surgery. Vish is also fellowship trained in hand and wrist surgery.

Vish continues to serve in the NHS and has a high volume NHS practice at the prestigious Royal Berkshire Hospital Shoulder and Elbow Unit, Reading. He is extensively involved in medical education which includes teaching Oxford University Medical students, physiotherapists, as well as nationally training future consultants in shoulder and elbow surgery. He also works as teaching faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of England helping to enhance surgical care.

Vish is also one of a few surgeons who are Members of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine UK, helping him to treat upper limb sports related injuries non-operatively and is also uniquely skilled to provide his patients Ultrasound guided injections. His general philosophy is that an accurate, specialist assessment together with a team-based approach to rehabilitation help patients to make a full recovery without the need for surgery in the majority of upper limb problems when managed early.

Vish uses the latest technology and modern surgical techniques to ensure his patients can start rehabilitation sooner after surgery. He has presented research nationally and internationally on rotator cuff repairs, shoulder instability and has won an international prize on patient safety research work.

Vish prides himself as being kind, friendly and above all a dedicated doctor for his patients to ensure a successful recovery. His practice is evidence based and he closely works with physiotherapists and radiologists to ensure his patients get the right diagnosis and prompt personalised treatment.
