About me
Hello, a warm welcome to my page. I am Kirsty, a fully qualified and accredited psychotherapist offering short, medium or long term counselling. People see me for many different reasons. You might know what you want to talk about or are not too sure where to start. You could have a life goal, be feeling in crisis, lost or something else altogether.
I work with people wishing to focus on a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, bereavement, illness, loss, relationship difficulties, divorce, transitions in life, parenting, family, identity, work, spiritual crisis, gender and sexuality. (Please see 'Areas of Interest' for full list)
Therapy can be helpful at any point in your life. It can support you to build understanding, insight and develop new ways to live. I offer a non-judgmental space to explore any issue you wish to bring. In my experience, it is rare to find a space to breathe and take time for yourself. It can be hard to share some parts of our lives with friends or family.
It may feel scary or overwhelming however, taking the first step to contact a counsellor is brave. Whatever your reason for looking for a counsellor, giving yourself the time to explore parts of life that may have been neglected or forgotten is a positive step.
I am warm, caring and interested in people. This means ensuring a non-judgmental, inclusive and affirmative space for you to explore whatever aspect of your life or experience you wish.
As an integrative psychotherapist I draw from several schools of therapy to ensure I offer you a counselling experience that works with your need. At my core I draw from creative and psychodynamic approaches. This means your story, thoughts and feelings matter. I do not work with an agender or goal in mind, so what you would like to talk about will be priority. I will be interested in how you feel and relate yourself, others and the world around you.
I have worked as a therapist and trainer in counselling for over 18 years. I offer individual, couples and organisational psychotherapy, supervision and training. I have extensive experience in working with charities, education and community-based organisations.
Some organisations and areas currently and previously worked in:
• NHS,
• Mind Charity,
• East London Out Project (ELOP),
• Charities to support people with homelessness, mental health and addiction issues,
• Community counselling services.
• Counselling training courses within college and charity settings
