About me
Miss Ali is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Maternal Medicine Specialist. She was appointed as a Consultant at Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust in 2017, where she is the Lead for Maternal Medicine.
Miss Ali trained in leading university and tertiary hospitals across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, where she obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
During her training she developed an interest in colposcopy, recurrent miscarriage and the management of women with medical disease in pregnancy. She then pursued specialist training in maternal medicine in England, where she undertook a 2 year clinical fellowship in maternal medicine and recurrent miscarriage at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals and completed the RCOG Advanced Training Skills Module in Maternal Medicine.
Miss Ali is a BSCPP certified colposcopist and accredited trainer with 12 years’ experience as a colposcopist. She is proficient in the management of women with abnormal smears, HPV related cervical, vaginal and vulval conditions as well as the management of women with symptoms such as postcoital bleeding, vaginal discharge, vulval pain and vulvodynia. In addition, she offers screening for genital infections in addition to well women health checks.
She has expertise in the management of women with recurrent first and second miscarriage relating to clotting or endocrine disorders, as well as miscarriage and recurrent IVF implantation failure related to immune conditions such as high natural killer cells. She offers targeted immunotherapy and individualised management plans as well as support during the early pregnancy period.
Miss Ali is vastly experienced in pre pregnancy counselling of women with medical disorders and previous obstetric complications. She offers tailored advice regarding optimisation of medical conditions prior to pregnancy; including up-to-date advice on medication. She discusses modifications of care required in pregnancy for women with medical conditions, such as diabetes, gastrointestinal, rheumatological, renal, cardiac and neurological disease.
Miss Ali has presented her work at national and international conferences and has several publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals in addition to co-authoring 3 book chapters.
