About me
Mr Thomas King qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2008 having previously gained BSc with first class honours in Biochemistry. He undertook his initial training in Nottingham before moving to Birmingham for basic surgical training. He completed specialist training in urology in the West Midlands training programme and was awarded FRCS (Urol) in 2016. Thomas then undertook further specialist training overseas completing a fellowship in functional urology and incontinence in Sydney, Australia.
After returning to the UK, he was appointed as a consultant urological surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in 2019. Mr King specialises in all aspects of bladder and lower urinary tract dysfunction in both men and women. He is part of a team providing a regional referral service to the wider West Midlands for male incontinence and regularly performs artificial urinary sphincter implantation in addition to offering comprehensive assessment and treatment for female stress incontinence and lower urinary tract symptoms in both men and women including sacral neuromodulation. Thomas regularly sees patients with bladder dysfunction due to neurological disease and is committed to helping all patients maximise their quality of life
