About me
Dr Fiona Taylor qualified in 1996 from the Royal London Medical School. After completing her early surgical training in and around London she was appointed as a specialist registrar in General Surgery/Colorectal in 2002.
During Dr Taylor's specialist training she undertook a period of research collaborating with The Royal Marsden investigating the role of MRI scanning related to the staging and treatment of rectal cancer. This resulted in being awarded a Doctor of Medicine postgraduate doctorate degree from Imperial College.
Having completed her surgical training within the London Deanery with further specialist training in Australia she was appointed a consultant colorectal surgeon at Whipps Cross Hospital (Bart's Health) in 2012 where she is the clinical lead for General Surgery. Her clinical practice is that of elective and emergency general surgery with a specialist interest in colorectal disease. Within colorectal surgery Dr Taylor has a wide degree of expertise within colonoscopy (JAG accredited), colorectal cancer surgery and benign colorectal conditions.
She undertakes the majority of her major colorectal cancer resections and benign operations via a laparoscopic (keyhole approach) and has a wide degree of experience in the assessment and treatment of benign colorectal perianal conditions.
