About me

I am an HCPC-registered, BPS-accredited Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years' experience working with adults with a range of mental health and personal difficulties, in various clinical settings including NHS Increasing Access for Psychological Therapies (IAPT), NHS primary and secondary care, University counselling services, charity, and the private sector.

I have helped clients with issues of depression, anxiety, anger, stress, self-confidence, past trauma, problematic relationships, and coping with chronic illness. I have also treated patients with diagnoses of borderline bipolar, chronic fatigue, phobias, generalized anxiety, and Asperger syndrome.

I offer a non-judgmental safe space for my clients. The initial sessions begin with an exploration of issues, to arrive at mutually agreed goals and plans for psychotherapy. I integrate evidence-based models of psychotherapy to suit each client's individual needs and preferences.

My approach is based on Cognitive-Behavioural, Emotion-Focused and Psychodynamic psychotherapies, focusing on the impact of patterns of thinking on one's emotional health and behaviours. I provide in-the-moment understanding and support alongside gentle challenge to achieve a deep understanding of issues. I also use mindfulness techniques to invite a deep exploration of feelings and experiences. My approach aims to facilitate long-lasting change and growth.

Alongside my practice, I conduct psychotherapy research into processes that improve client outcomes. I use research to inform my practice.

You can send me an email to arrange a 15-minute free telephone consultation and book a first session.
