I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with NHS practice at the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust (Freeman Hospital and RVI).
I am the Clinical Director of the North of Tyne Bowel Cancer Screening Centre which provides screening services for people in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland
Areas of interest
Colonoscopy incl. Bowel Cancer Screening and removal of complex polyps;
Bowel disease including inflammatory (IBD); Therapeutic endoscopy;
Double balloon and Single Balloon enteroscopy; Transnasal endoscopy;
Barretts oesophagus therapy incl. Radio-frequency ablation and endoscopic resection of early (non invasive) tumours. I also am involved with endoscopic assessment of acid reflux
