About me

Dr Mahto is a London trained Rheumatologist with an interest in early inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, biologic treatments and musculoskeletal ultrasound. She completed her PhD in rheumatoid arthritis from Barts and The London / Queen Mary University. She is also dual qualified in general internal medicine and has an in-depth knowledge of co-morbidities that are associated with inflammatory disease.


She is currently a consultant Rheumatologist at King's College Hospital where she provides early assessment and treatment of inflammatory arthritis and has an interest in complex connective tissue diseases as vasculitis lead for the department. Dr Mahto also runs a dedicated adolescent clinic - working with young people means that she has a holistic, caring approach to disorders such as hypermobility, chronic pain and juvenile onset arthritis. She also treats gout, ankylosing spondylitis and fibromyalgia.


Dr Mahto has a keen interest in patient safety and transparency in healthcare. She has authored several case reports and publications and has maintained her research interests as principal investigator for clinical trials in vasculitis and rheumatoid arthritis. She is a member of the British Society of Rheumatology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.


Dr Mahto is personable, friendly and believes that individuals should make informed, evidence-based and holistic choices about their health, treating the patient as a whole.
