About me
Graduated from University of Edinburgh (1987). Completed MRCP(UK) in 1991 and general professional training prior to training in Cardiology at centres in Liverpool, Leicester and Newcastle. Gained MD (Leicester University 1996) during BHF research fellowship evaluating drug-eluting coronary stents.
Appointed Consultant Cardiologist with interest in Interventional Cardiology at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals and London Chest Hospital 1999. During my tenure at Basildon Hospital I have led on numerous service developments including the establishment of the prestigious Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. I have served as clinical director for cardiothoracic services and for research and development. in 2017 I established the TAVI service at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and continue to develop this service alongside my clinical commitments in percutaneous coronary intervention and all aspects of general adult cardiology.

All aspects of adult general cardiology; Particular interest in coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease; Invasive Procedures: Cardiac catheterisation and coronary intervention (95% via radial route), permanent pacemaker and loop recorder implantation; Interventional cardiology - coronary angioplasty and stenting, pressure wire studies, IVUS and OCT assessment; Full range of non-invasive investigation; Active researcher with strong publication record
