About me

Miss Fiammetta Soggiu is a Consultant Upper Gastro-Intestinal and General Surgeon at the London North-West University Healthcare NHS Trust. After qualifying and obtaining her Certificate of Completion of Training in General Surgery at the University of Milan in 2015, she moved to the UK where she completed a post-CCT fellowship in Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery in the Liver Unit at the Royal Free Hospital.
She specialises in benign Upper GI and HPB surgery and since 2011 has worked in several centres of excellence including the Liver Unit at the Paul Brousse Hospital in Paris and the IRCAD minimally invasive surgical centre of Strasbourg in France.
She is highly trained in Upper Gastro-Intestinal and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary, General and Emergency Surgery with open, laparoscopic and robotic approach.

She specialises on the treatment of benign conditions including abdominal wall complex hernias, groin and umbilical hernias, gallstones and lumps and bumps.

She holds a PhD in translational medicine and has an academic interest in acute pancreatitis, having published several papers as main author in peer review journals. She is member of various societies and committees, including the European Association of HPB surgery, the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland and the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain.
