About me
Natalie Boyle is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, currently working in NHS Golden Jubilee as a high volume cataract surgeon. She has been a consultant since 2005, first in NHS Ayrshire and Arran, then in NHS Fife. She specialises in cataract surgery, paediatric Ophthalmology and Oculomotility, which is the diagnosis and treatment of eye movement disorders and conditions such as squints. Cataract surgery includes the use of Toric intraocular lenses where appropriate. Strabismus (squint) treatments include the use of Botulinum Toxin, prisms and surgery, using an adjustable suture technique if needed. Her outcomes and complication rate are well below national standards, for both cataract and strabismus surgery.
After studying medicine at Edinburgh University, she trained in Ophthalmology in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the West of Scotland. Subspecialist training in Oculomotility and Paediatric Ophthalmology was at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
