About me

Hello, I am Dr Kerry Ware and I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. I have 15 years of qualified experience of working with adults with a wide range of difficulties and have worked in the NHS for over 20 years. I offer specialist assessment, formulation and treatment of psychological distress and as a Clinical Psychologist I am able to draw on a number of different models to suit your needs. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). These therapeutic approaches provide a framework within which to understand why you are feeling the way you do and to reduce distress and improve your psychological well being.
I am also a qualified EMDR therapist and am able to help you process traumatic events that are causing you difficulties in your everyday life and which may be getting in the way of you living the life you want to.

Areas of interest

In addition to working with adults experiencing psychologcal distress more widely, I have a special interest in the psychological impact of having/having had breast cancer and treatment for it; fear of cancer recurrence; adjusting and adapting to life after breast cancer; women's health, perimenopause; medical/surgical menopause; adjustment to physical health conditions; and trauma.
