About me
As a consultant I have over 25 years experience in diagnosing and treating diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. I have performed over 400 major large bowel resections, mainly for bowel cancer. I have an interest in disorders of defaecation and the pelvic floor. Symptoms of anal irritation, piles, rectal bleeding, constipation and difficulty in opening bowels are extremely common. They are usually due to benign causes but can be challenging to treat.
Areas of interest
Coloproctology; Haemorrhoids ("piles") and new treatments including THD / HALO; Colorectal (bowel) cancer; Rectal bleeding; Colonoscopy; Faecal incontinence; Abdominal and anal pain; Colorectal surgery (lower GI)
