About me

Consultant Dietitian specialising in Histamine Intolerance, MCAS & Complex Gut Conditions

With over 10 years' experience in the NHS, I specialise in histamine intolerance and histamine-related conditions, including Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and food chemical sensitivities. Much of my work focuses on people who feel they are reacting to everything they eat and have struggled to find clear answers.

I support adults with complex digestive and systemic symptoms, including:

Histamine intolerance and MCAS

Food chemical sensitivities (amines, salicylates, additives, glutamates)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)

Fibromyalgia

Post-viral gut symptoms, including long COVID

Many of my clients experience overlapping symptoms such as bloating, fatigue, brain fog, skin reactions, headaches, flushing, and food anxiety. My role is to help untangle these patterns and reduce symptoms without unnecessary dietary restriction.

My approach is highly individualised and evidence-based. I recognise how closely linked gut health, histamine intolerance, MCAS, hormones, and the nervous system can be, particularly in midlife and after viral illness.

I work collaboratively with clients to:

Identify histamine and food chemical triggers

Reduce symptom flares

Improve energy, digestion, and confidence around food

Build a sustainable long-term plan rather than relying on rigid food lists

I am a UK Registered Dietitian with a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Nottingham, accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Dietetic Association (BDA). I am also a member of the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI).

I have completed advanced training in the low FODMAP diet for IBS through Monash University and specialist training in food chemical sensitivity at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), Australia. This allows me to support people with complex and overlapping food intolerances, including histamine intolerance and MCAS.

Special interests

I have a particular clinical interest in:

Histamine intolerance in menopause and midlife women

MCAS and hormone fluctuations

Long COVID, post-viral fatigue, ME and CFS

Fatigue management and gut-brain interactions

I run a private dietetic practice online and in Nottingham, supporting adults across the UK. My aim is to provide clarity, reduce overwhelm, and help clients feel more in control of their symptoms and food choices.
