Current NHS consultant posts held

I was Consultant Psychiatrist for the Assertive Community Treatment Team at South West London and St George's NHS Mental Health Trust from 2003- 2006.

I was in charge of a team of mental health professionals who dealt with the treatment and management of very challenging patients with severe and enduring psychiatric disorders who required an intensive caring approach.

I left the NHS in 2006 and have been a self-employed private consultant psychiatrist since then.

Personal interests

I enjoy reading a wide variety of books and magazines to keep up to date with news, general knowledge, culture and society.

I am also fond of walking, travel, theatre, cinema and listening to a varied selection of music.

Awards received

In September 2018, I was elected to Fellowship of The Royal College of Psychiatrists as a mark of distinction and in recognition of the significant contribution I have made to the core purpose of the College throughout my career.

2007-08: I was commended as being a particularly helpful and inspiring tutor by medical students from University College London Hospital Medical school. (I was co-clinical tutor for medical students at The Priory Hospital Roehampton from 2007-2015).

Publications

I have an ongoing and active interest in promoting improved mental health among the general public via the popular media.

I have appeared on Channel 5 News, Sky News Sunrise, BBC Radio 4 and LBC radio's Nick Ferrari breakfast show to discuss Seasonal Affective Disorder, the stigma of depressive disorders and the dangers of sexting and cyber bullying.

I continue to be quoted extensively in National ( and some international) newspapers and magazines.
