About me
I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, a Clinical Supervisor, and a Supervisor of Supervisors. I am fully qualified and insured to work with individuals, couples, families and groups.
I have worked in the Employee Assistance Provider sector for the last six years and was a Clinical Lead for the Scottish Government's Inquiry into Childhood Abuse. I was also the Clinical Lead for Police Scotland's trauma support work. I carried out mental health and trauma triage assessments on a daily basis, and offered telephone counselling using CBT,CCBT and SFBT approaches. I also carried out vicarious trauma/psychological wellbeing resilience assessments, critical incident trauma debriefing and consultative support one to one sessions, and have worked on several high profile incidents.
More recently I was employed as a part time CBT Therapist and Clinical Team Leader, where I was responsible for managing and reviewing safeguarding and risk cases ranging from low, high and immediate risk ,self harm, suicide, domestic violence and child protection issues.
I now run a successful full time private practice where I receive self referrals, referrals from occupational health and various health insurance providers.
Areas of interest
I treat adults only (18 and over) and am particularly interested in working with trauma using TF-CBT. I recently completed my MSc in CBT and focussed on the TF-CBT model.
