About me
We all struggle at times, as we are all human. I take pride in delivering excellent psychological services guided by my values of compassion, trust, curiosity and nature. I can help you to understand yourself better, notice and step out of unhelpful patterns of coping, develop healthier ways of living and connect with the natural world.
As a clinical psychologist I am highly trained and skilled in integrating a variety of psychological models and theories. This enables me to deliver a bespoke, creative and holistic therapy to suit your individual needs.
My therapy is based on developing a compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, as I believe this is the most active ingredient for effective therapy.
My primary approach is Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), alongside other mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I also have a special interest involving nature in therapeutic work, which is informed by Ecotherapy and Ecopsychology.
In my private work I take therapy outdoors. If you are curious about this approach or want to get a better sense of me in general, visit my website. www.theoutdoorpsychologist.co.uk
Areas of interest
Life brings with it inevitable twists, bumps and road blocks. People's early experiences, life events and the ways of coping they developed to survive these, can leave them feeling overwhelmed or stuck. This may lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, panic, depression, low self-confidence, low self-worth and perfectionism and difficulties in daily living, relationships and work.
Prior to setting up my private practice, I have over ten years' experience in the NHS. I have supported adults of all ages to overcome the difficulties they have endured, promote their mental wellbeing and resilience and enhance their quality of life.
