About me
I am a friendly ‘easy to talk to’ compassionate psychologist - A British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Practitioner Psychologist (HCPC audit approved, June 2019), with over 15 years’ experience in psychological settings (8 years post qualification).
I have been awarded a title of Doctor of Health Psychology, having completed rigorous training for a minimum of six years. Additionally, I have completed advanced training in therapeutic approaches, I therefore practice as an Integrative Therapist. This means I draw from different therapeutic approaches. I have a special interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I am a member of worldwide Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS). My understanding of distress considers a person’s biology, psychology and social situations. I do not offer diagnosis or prescribe medication.
I have experience of supporting people recover from trauma, physical health problems and associated emotional distress. I combined mindfulness, compassion, and acceptance-based processes, providing an integrative unique package of skills to offer clients.
My focus is empowering people’s ability to manage their emotional and physical pain, to work with challenges faced, so the quality of their general life and psychological well-being can improve.
The approach I take is a very active form – not just talking about problems. You and I, as a team, will work together to ensure a change to take you in the direction you want to go. The approach I take will enable you to do things that matter most to you even when psychological barriers are present, resulting in improving quality of life, living a more enriched life.
