About me
Dr. Amal Hassan is a Consultant who specialises in Sport & Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, with expertise in Female Athlete Health. She graduated from the University of Bristol in 2010 and after completing her general medical training, achieving Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, and an MSc in Sport & Exercise Medicine, gained her Fellowship of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine. She now works as a Consultant at the Institute for Sport, Exercise and Health, London, and is also sports physician at the Royal Ballet School, White Lodge and the Women's Team Doctor at Harlequins Rugby Club.
Dr. Hassan is experienced in overseeing the diagnosis and management of soft tissue injuries and musculoskeletal pain and has a thorough approach that suits both acute and chronic presentations. She is also experienced in the management of return to exercise post-COVID and other medical disorders.
Dr. Hassan is considered an expert in the care of athletic pregnancies and postnatal return to sport & exercise and is also experienced in overseeing the diagnosis and management of relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), menstrual cycle disorders in athletes, and injuries in dancers and adolescents.
Dr. Hassan is a caring and holistic practitioner with strong listening and communication skills and a particular attention to detail, which she strongly believes to be the foundation of clinical care.
