I am a BACP accredited counsellor. My main approach to counselling is Person-Centred. It is a non-directive form of therapy which means I will not advise you or tell you what to do but I will help you explore the areas in your life which you choose to bring to counselling. I will offer a non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in your own time and at your own pace.
In addition to my person-centred core training, I also refer to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focus techniques and incorporate Emotion Focused Therapy into my work, if beneficial to the client.
In my current role as a counsellor in higher education, I work mainly with young adults and I have previously counselled children and young people. In my private practice, I see clients for individual counselling sessions, either from home or via telephone/video calls.
As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have insurance for personal liability and professional indemnity.
