About me
I am a Senior Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma with a special interest in Spine surgery since 1998 at Whipps Cross University Hospital , Barts Health, London.
I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer Barts Medical School
I graduated from St. Bartholomew's Medical School, London University and completed initial training for the Royal College of Surgeon of England fellowship at Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary's Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital.
Further Orthopaedic Specialist training was undertaken at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital/Royal Free Hospital Rotation both as a Registrar and a Senior Registrar.
I completed my FRCS.orth and gained my certificate of specialist training.
I undertook my Spine Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and University College London/Middlesex Hospital.
I undertook travelling fellowship education in Spine Surgery in France. Germany ,Hong Kong , USA and South Africa
I am a trainer for junior doctors and specialist registrar.
I am a GMC appraiser and work with a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists/radiologists/pain therapists/Spine surgeons at Whipps Cross University Hospital and Royal London Hospital, Barts NHS.
I provide support for community based musculoskeletal services
I participate in providing emergency services for the NHS and undertake major trauma work and complex spine surgery as well routine elective surgery-spinal injections/decompressions/discectomies/cervicalspine surgery/kyphoplasty/spine fusions/spine reconstructions/disc replacements).
I regularly perform routine and complex orthopaedic and spine surgery as well as supervising and training junior doctors .
I provide specialist Spine opinion to other consultants inc orthopaedic surgeons both at Whipps Cross University Hospital and elsewhere.
I receive large volume of referals from East London and the Essex/neighbouring vicinity from general practitioners, orthopaedic consultants , non-orthopaedic consultants, pain therapist, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other professionals allied to medicine
I treat and welcome referrals from overseas and non UK residents
