About me
Mr Derek Boyle studied Medicine and Immunology at Glasgow University before going onto complete his early training in Edinburgh. In 2007 he relocated to London to study pelvic floor disorders at the Royal London Hospital and was awarded an MD (Res) for his thesis. Mr Boyle completed higher training in North West Thames before going on to Colorectal Fellowships in St Mark's Hospital and the Colorectal Unit at the Western General in Edinburgh. Since 2016 he has worked for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon. In 2021 he was appointed Clinical Lead for Colorectal Surgery for the Trust.
Mr Boyle is married to Angela and they live in North London. He a keen runner and has completed marathons in the UK, Greece, Italy, Germany and Russia trying to obtain a qualifying time for Boston. He also has a passion for skiing but unfortunately his off piste skills do not quite match his ambitions resulting in not infrequent lost skis and poles.
