About me

I can offer specialist assessment, formulation and therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. I have experience working with individuals with complex mental health problems and have experience of providing both individual and group therapy. I have a specialist interest in working with people who have experienced trauma and have much experience in understanding and treating the effects of trauma. I also have a special interest in working with eating disorders and receive specialist supervision in relation to this.

I draw on several models to tailor the care to each individual I work with. In particular, I use Cognitive-Analytic Therapy (CAT), a time-limited therapy focussing on a collaborative understanding of an individual's feelings, thoughts and actions, and the relational patterns (often stemming from childhood) which underlie these. In addition to CAT I also use Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
