About me
Dr Duncan qualified from St Bartholomews Hospital Medical College, University of London 1995 with distinctions in Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Merit in Medicine and Pathology.
He gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians London 1998 with Fellowship awarded 2009. He became an Associate Fellow Higher Education Academy in 2015 teaching as Royal College Tutor training junior doctors. He undertook Diploma Certification Medical Leadership, Birkbeck University with Merit 2022
He was appointed Renal Consultant at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in 2005 and works at Hammersmith Hospital with extensive clinical experience in Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation. He is Clinical Lead and Research Lead for Dialysis. He has Honorary Consultancy at Northwick Park Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital. He holds a European Medical Advisory Board Membership with Fresenius Medical Care.
He co-founded a International Society of Nephrology Sisterhood with a hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka 2017-2022, with the objective of universal health care.
He has co-supervised postgraduate research with 5 research fellows. He is engaged in clinical trials. He has co-authored over 80 peer reviewed journal articles.
He has expertise general nephrology and dialysis, and have worked actively in the medical care of patients with renal transplants in one of the busiest and most diverse renal centres in the UK.
